How the audit works
When you submit an address, our server fetches that page exactly once, the same way any browser or search crawler does. Before fetching we verify the address is genuinely public, and that verification repeats on every redirect; requests to private networks or internal addresses are never made, and the page content is not stored.
Eighteen checks then run across three categories: eight security checks (HTTPS, HSTS, CSP and the other protective headers), six SEO checks (title, description, canonical, Open Graph, robots.txt, sitemap) and four content checks (viewport, language declaration, a single H1, image alt text). Every check is grounded in OWASP recommendations and Google's own documentation.
Scoring is simple: a fully passing check earns 1 point, a partial pass 0.5, a fail 0, and both the category scores and the overall score are percentage averages of those values. There is no AI and no judgement call; the same site at the same moment always gets the same score. And the list applies to us too: this site passes the same eighteen checks.
